Everything people usually ask before ordering.
What's inside the book?
A cover with their name, then 24 full-colour pages about their day and year: the No.1 song, the weather where they were born, famous birthday twins, who was in charge, what things cost then and now, the front-page news, TV, films, a quiz and more, finishing with a page for messages. Baby books swap some pages for ones made for new arrivals: a "Hello, world!" page for their weight and details, their weight in bags of sugar, what things might cost on their 18th and a calendar of their first year.
How much does it cost?
The hardback book is £29.99 and includes the PDF. UK delivery is £2.99 per order, however many copies you send to the same address. The PDF on its own is £14.99 (no delivery charge). All prices include VAT.
Can I see it before I buy?
Yes. Make a book and you can read the first five pages in full, and take a peek at the rest. Choose from ten cover designs and see your choice straight away.
How long does delivery take?
Usually 1–4 working days to print and dispatch, then 2–5 working days to arrive in the UK. See delivery for details and Christmas dates.
When should I order for Christmas?
We recommend ordering by Sunday 13 December 2026 for delivery before Christmas. Later than that? The PDF is ready instantly. See Christmas delivery.
Can I send it straight to them as a gift?
Yes. Enter their address at checkout and add a gift note. It's printed on the delivery note, which never shows the price.
Where do the facts come from?
Public historical records, including Wikipedia, Wikidata, the Met Office, the ONS and the official UK singles chart. Each page says where its facts came from. See our sources.
What if a fact looks wrong?
Tell us using "Spotted something wrong?" on the preview page and we'll look into it. If there's a significant error in a book you've received that was our mistake, we'll put it right.
Can I change my order?
Contact us straight away. Books usually go to print within one working day, and can't be changed once printing starts.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Not yet. We deliver to UK addresses only for now. The PDF can be downloaded anywhere.
Which dates can I choose?
Any date from 1953 up to today. Books for very recent dates (like a newborn) are a little different, because some things, like the year's full chart, are still happening.
Is my information safe?
Yes. We only use it to make and deliver your book, payments are handled by Stripe, and books that aren't ordered are deleted after 90 days. See our privacy policy.
